I need to know when my lease ends, how many days do I have to occupy the place without a lease before being evicted?

ONE DAY ......if the landlord gave you a 30 day notice to vacate or non renewal

Then the landlord can start a holdover proceeding in court it might take 2 weeks to a month to get you out, and ruin your credit, and to have a judgement against you

So..... Why do you ask?

You know if he has it re rented or has maintenence people coming in to do work and you are living there YOU are going to be responsible for ALL THEIR EXPENSES.

OH if the landlord has NOT given you a 30 day notice to move or not renewing the lease, then it continues on a month to month basis until the LL decides to give you a 30 day notice to vacte the premisis.

So, dj1 a landlord is required to give a 30 day notice that they don't intend to renew the lease and if they don't we should assume a month-to-month?

YES thats what is implied......in a lease, UNLESS there is any words to the effect that there is no renewal, and that you must vacate by the last day of the lease.

dj1, Please don't think I'm stupid, just stupid in rental laws! Anyway if the lease renewal that we got in Oct. states that the lease will be for six months and thereafter will be month to month. This might sound like a moronic question, but does that mean that if she didn't say that we had to go we assume moth-to-month? Thanks for the help!!!
