My roommate and I have lived in an apartment for 6 months. Since we moved in, nothing has gone right. We were promised cable, a computer lab, a laundry facility, and screens on our windows. None of this was available until months after we moved in. We had mice so bad that we had to move out for a week, so we got a cat. The lease states that pets are not allowed unless approved. However, our manager told our neighbor to put a cat in her apartment because no one would know. Yesterday, our landlord came into our apt and found our cat. She came in without anyone at home. Our lease states that they can only come in without notice in an emergency situation. They were checking the air conditioning drains and I do not consider this an emergency. Our manager taped a letter to our door saying get rid of the cat or be out in 30 days. We have never been a problem to them. Our rent is on time and we are cleanm and quiet. Our other neighbor has had the cops called on her and everyone complains about her and nothing is ever said. We want to get out of our lease. We hate it there! What should we do?

If your lease allows 30 day notice to terminate then write your notice and make copy and send it where you get a confirm on the delivery saying you will be out by last day of may . pay rent as normal and take pics of the unit after you have moved

look it up

Each state has laws reguarding when and how a landlord can enter your place. Go to the state Law Center on this site. It may take a while to find it but there is a statute on entering your apt. And If I were you I would call the housing inspector for your area(especially) if you still have a mouse problem. Good luck!!
