Hello. I need some help. My roommate has had his girlfriend living in here since the week we moved in. She is not on the lease. She will "officially" move in in January. I signed a 13-month lease in October. I really dislike my friend now because some issues have come up between us. The main problem came when he decided to movbe his girlfriend's cat in earlier this week, without even telling me. I am allergic to cats, and not only that we don't have an agreement with the owners over the pet. I didn't even know she had a cat. My roommate through a fit, as in like a kid, because I asked him to move the litter box from the dining room into his room. This is the main reason why I want to leave, a side of him I've never seen before has come to light. Is there anything I could/should do in order to leave the apartment and hence break the lease. I was thinking maybe switching my name out for hers (his girlfriend) to switch obligations. If you could give me any advice that'd be great. My email address is [email protected]

That's a good idea but you need approval from the landlord and the girlfriend.
If L agrees that is half the battle. If girlfriend's intention is to get a free ride and free rent have the cat pay her share.
