What is the name of your state?
New york

After receiving high gas bills we contacted the utility company to come and check for share meter condition their inspector find that there is share meter condition in the building and we paying gas for both apartments in the building as soon as the landlord heard we contacted the utility company to complain he informed us that becuse we did so he wont renew our lease
He allowed to do it?
There is anything we can do to fight it ?

We even offered him to pay half of the bill but he dont want to hear anything

Please help

Are you in a rent controlled area? If so, you might want to get a consult with a real estate attorney. Otherwise, he is not forced to keep you as a tenant.

For the time being its entirely possible that your LL is going to have to put the gas in his name then and if your on a fixed term lease refuse to let him increase your rent now , he may want to argue your lease amount was based your heat not included and you can politely tell him you would be happy to let him explain to a judge why you are obligated to pay for the neighbors heat via a undisclosed shared meter ? ( wonders if one unit is not legal or if there are more crossed over items such as hot water heater serving two units , cooking gas lines all leading to your meter as well as any other gas items and don't forget any outlets or lights outside of your unit that either serve common areas such as a hallway, Laundry area or a boiler that serves you both.
