Lease up, owner sold...chance for refund?

A friend's landlord sold the house they were living in. Their lease was up the 19th of November and they chose to move to a new apartment in the beginning of November. The owners closed the deal with the buyers on the 12 of November.

Now my question:
Are they entitled to a refund of rent from the 12 of November to the end of the lease which was the 19th? They are not looking for a refund of rent from the time they vacated the property until the time it changed hands of ownership. The time period in question is from when it changed ownership. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A change of ownership does not impact most leases. That's no grounds to break the lease or stop paying rent.
