I don't currently have a means to support myself (because of established trade monopoly of competing art businesses) and have no means to change anything in court pursuing legal actions against, say auction houses or museums. I currently share an apartment with my parents who pay the rental expenses. Also, I currently receive a disability income (on the basis of wrongly diagnosed psychiatric disease) on the name of my father from the US government, by the reason that same competing art businesses left me without any possibility to legally earn income. I suspect they (my parents) won't include my name in the new lease with the new landlord and evict me from this apartment. What can I do in my defense, not to become homeless or end up in the psychiatric unit, or not to be forced to reject US citizenship and be deported to the Republic of Belarus in result, as an optional method of my defense?

Your are overlooking the most obvious choice: Get a job.

Any job...it doesn't have to be a dream job or even a job in your established career path. It just has to earn you enough money that you can pay your share of the bills.

I'm not a professional plumber, and have no intentions to change my profession because of already established unlawful monopoly. Besides, I'm best artist in this city.

My most likely choice: Leave this country forever. No Love. I have nothing to love here. I have everything I've ever wanted as an artist.

Who cares if you're a plumber?

Enjoy your new life in Belarus - I'm sure that artists make tons of money there, too.

Best Job for Damien Hirst

I'd suggested seek other jobs to Damien Hirst and Larry Gagosian. What's the worth of one million dollar painting by Damien Hirst? Amount he can repay you back via the Christie's or Sotheby's resulting from his investments? He has very questionable investment plans in Hirst-on-Sea village. I have even better plans to invest one million dollars spent on my artwork.

Thanks, Zigner for escalating this thread
Artists don't make tons of money in the States, just a few loved by Real Estate public. Anish Kapoor and Jeff Koons for example.

Look at how few of websites of alumni of one art school are still active

I also think what makes work of Oscar Murillo an investment when he splits incoming cash 50/50 with David Zwirner and has no known to the public investment portfolio. As well Phillips, Sotheby's, Christie's take huge percent. What might insure the price growth? Nicholas Chistiakov? No, I have no agreement with these people to support their price level. Or Charles Saatchi?
