north carolina in nov. i signed a 6mo lease with and
a seperate agreement on an option to buy. the lease was
signed by me and the landlords agent and states that
escrow money of 1000.00 to be held at a bank this money
i assumed was refundable based on returning the property over in satisfactory condition. a 2nd contract with the option clause, states that if i do not purchase the
property, that the 1000.00 is forfited to the owner.
and the same moneys are being held in a different acct.
non interest bearing. the option was never signed by
the property owner. and was also faxed backed to the
agent on march 16,2001 again unsigned. the contract returned unsigned a 2nd time over 4mos. later. i have paid my
rent on time, and maintained the house and property.
which is the most common sense path to get my deposit
back without lengthy fueding. since the option was
never signed i believe we never had a legal contract
