What happens if the father (never married to mother) leaves the state before any mediation or court orders for visitation or child support takes place? Thanks.

Well, then its going to make it more difficult for the father to establish visiation/custody....but its not necessarily going to make it more difficult for child support orders to be established.

You asked your question without giving any information on the situation, so no one can really give you a decent answer.

What kind of legal issues will he be dealing with? What kind of recourse does the mother have? If no court orders have taken place is the state still able to file child support on him?

Seriously, if you don't explain the situation in detail, you aren't going to get good answers....however of course the state will be able to file to establish paternity and child support orders.
