tn, my divorce atty said that my husb and his atty dropped by and brought her some 401K info just prior to my appt with her.My husb says his atty called first and they were invited--the 2 offices are across street from each other. I objected when I found out. Is this legal to have a meeting without my presence? I certainly don't think it is fair.

My response:

I don't see a problem, especially if the purpose of the "meeting" was to merely drop off some paperwork.

What if opposing counsel had called your attorney ? Would you have expected your attorney to say, "Wait, let me get my client on the phone also, for a three-way conversation" ?

No, of course not. Meetings occur between counsel all the time - - both in-person and by telephone.

As long as your attorney informed you of the meeting, then there's no impropriety.
