Can anyone give me some advice on this legal situation.

I recently purchased a vehicle from a friend, neither of us having much car experience, for the price of £2500. I asked if this car had he ability to tow a caravan as i ws going to purchase one, and he told me that although he hadn't towed one before it would be able to do so. I had it checked out for any mechanical problems by a mechanic as one would and bought it
However, now i have the car it is evident that it is not able to tow a caravan, and the specification states the engine needed is higher.

What is the best action to take? Do i have a claim?

thanks

This is a forum for United States law.

But tell me: what's a caravan?

caravan= motorhome i think? but you can pull them on the back of a car providing it isnt too big. i think the law would be the same in the us as it involves same principles of misrepresentation.
