Clarification: Child Advocate Malpractice

I am in Long Island. My children's legal advocate never contacted our marriage councelor who sided with my accounts of the marriage. She relied souly on my wife's therapist who made claims about me even though she never met myself and my kids. She ruled that I could not have overnights. This wemnt on for a year. 18 months later she talked to the marriage councelor (who phoned her several times and was ignored), and after talking to the marriage councellor, finally decided I should have overnights. Now she wants $1500 for her sevices. I would like to sue her for malpractice resulting in me losing my kids for irreplaceable 18 months of their young lives, and I feel she should not be paid
this money when she did not do her job. She is friends with my wife's attorney, and never billed me. She did however, tell my wife's lawyer who in turn told my wife that she was talking me to court for nonpayment. It's insane. What are my options and rights? Can I sue her for Malpracice and ruining 2 years of my life? Do I have to pay her for screwing up the case?

My response:

Okay, thanks for your story. Did you have "specific" legal question in mind?
