My friend had this case before the Michigan Court of Appeals a year ago. The Court decided that because of a time factor the case had to go through Circuit Court again before they would review it. My friend instructed his attorney to follow through, which the attorney neglected to do. My friend ended up with a four day jail term, a stiff fine, no drivers license, and a criminal record--all without going through the appeals process that he had a right to but his attorney did not follow. Does he have legal recourse?
