My son is 15 years old and currently being held in the Juvenile Detention Center. His public defender went to see him today, Saturday, and tried to get him to admit his guilt of what he's being charged with WITHOUT me, his mother, being there. She never even called me to tell me she would be speaking with him. Is this legal?

The man is HIS attorney, not yours.

And, understand, there is no parent-child confidentiality under the law. There IS an attorney-client confidentiality.

You can certainly call the attorney and ask what he was trying to accomplish, but it might simply be the attorney trying to find out the facts. They really hate being blindsided at trial.
