After being falsely accused of abusing my children, do I have any legal recourse against the person who made the allegations and are they able to be legally prosecuted for making false statements?

My response:

Yes, you can sue that person. However, you would have to prove that the person didn't have a "good faith" reason for reporting you - - even if it turned out to be a mistake.

Ohio. The person who made allegations against me was angry that I had been mentioned as someone who would have information useful to children's services and their investigation against them

I'm licensed in Ohio. I'll bite. How about giving us the whole run down in facts, including who said what, when, and to whom, whether charges against you were filed, their disposition, whether or not a motion to dismiss for lack of probable cause was filed with respect to any underlying case, and the like.
