What is the name of your state? Maryland

Recently I sent a letter to the editor of a major newspaper which was printed. The following week the newspaper printed a rebuttal by someone who slandered me by calling me insane and inferring that I didn't care about the poor. The newpaper will not print my rebuttal to this letter for whatever reason. Do I have a legal right to have my rebuttal letter printed?

Nope, just as you had no right to have your original letter printed. It's totally up to the editor of the paper.

Yes, but is this true even if the letter in question has easily provably false statements that slandered me?

If the comments were the opinion of the writer, you have no case...
