Legal separation and divorce

i live in north carolina and i want to get a divorce without the use of a lawyer. i have been separated for nine months without a legal separation agreement. i have a book with all the necessary papers that i will need to file, but I do not know how to begin. i do not wish to see my husband in order to get him to sign legal separation papers. how do I go about serving him and what if he does not sign them and return them to me?

Buy a different book, the one you have is obviously rubbish.
