What is the name of your state? washington.
my girlfriend is buying a used car about one month ago and is making payments . she just found out today that it needs a new head gasket. a very large expense! for the price she is paying for this car, does the lemon law come into play or how about the implied warranty of merchantability act?

My response:

Neither law applies to used vehicles. The only thing that applies is "caveat emptor".
