What is the name of your state? Louisiana
I just bought a used car from someone by finding an ad in the paper. Had the car not over 2 weeks and the transmission went out and the car won't go into overdrive. Is there any action to take since the car was sold" as is" and they didn't say anything was wrong like that?

Lemon laws do not apply to used vehicles. Yes, as is means exactly what is means, you have no recourse. Did you have the vehicle examined by a professional prior to purchasing it?
