What is the name of your state? CO

My daughter bought a used vehicl yesterday for $1200. The car did not make it home before it broke down. It appears the engine is blown.

The car was sold "as is". Does Colorado have laws protecting consumers from unscrupulous used car dealers? Even though the car is sold as is, I thought there were some standards for selling vehicles. Although there was no warranty, the car was purported to be in running condition.

The car just barely made it out the gae. What does your reply mean? I am asking if there are laws protecting consumers from unscrupulous used car dealers. My daughter worked all summer and saved every penny she made to buy a car and she got screwed. Now I cannot afford to get it fixed. There is no way the dealer was not aware of a probelm with this vehicle.

My reply means "buyer beware" - it means that you should have had the car inspected by a mechanic of YOUR choosing, prior to purchase. (As Racer also said)

Not lemon law eligible

I know almost for a fact that the vehicle does not qualify for lemon law.

You can go to the BBB website to get specific information regarding your states lemon laws.
