How long does a trial court in the state of Ohio have to try a defendant after a successful apeal? Someone I know was granted an apeal, (the sentence was reversed & remanded) in May 1995. He never had a new trial but was talked into accepting a plea bargain. The plea was offered & accepted in June 1996. Is there a time limitation to this? I was told a defendant must be tried within 180 days of the apeal. Is this correct? I would greatly appreciate a reply.
Thanks!
