What is the name of your state? WA
A friend of mine had 1 drink (seriously) and the level showed 1.6. He is taking antidepressants (he has hepatitis C and thus depression), that could be a reason.
He was stopped for mistakes changing lanes (questionable)
it is his first offence.
He doesn'thave money 24yold, just started 1st job at auto dealership, the lawer asks for 8000.
After reading some postings, I understand that he is in bad shape. I yet have to see winning cases. Seems if level is over 0.8 the penalties are severe anyway. - Please tell me if I am wrong.
I don't want him to borrow 8K and don't win a case, and lose a job and being in debt already.
Please help
He totally supports "No Drunk Driving" just couldn't guessed that 1 drink plus medicine effect could have such disast. consequences

I guess he missed all the "Do not consume alcohol" warnings on his antidepressants? And didn't listen when the Dr. who prescribed the drugs told him not to drink alcohol while using antidepressants?

Ok first things first...there is no reading from a PBT (portable breat test) or BAC machine which will register 1.6. Not only would your friend be out of it, he would be dead....do you mean the reading was .16?

Antidepressants and alcohol do not mix, however the drugs will in no way affect the BAC machine reading.....

He was stopped for "mistakes changing lanes" meaning what? He didnt signal the lane change, it was unsafe to do so....what?

It is not the .08 level he has to worry about, it is being over .15 which has statutory punishiments according to the RCW for Washington.
