 What is the name of your state? New Jersey

My mom was put into a nursing home for physical therapy. After 30 days insurance would no longer pay so my dad said he would cover it at that point. He gave them 2 1/2 months in advance. They asked him to sign a contract with them that he would be responsible for paying now as well as a contract with an outside prescription company. He never signed either one as by the time he got them, she had passed away. It took 3 months to get the balance of the money back from this nursing home. The prescription company is now sending bills saying they will put us in collection. Are we liable to pay this as no one ever signed anything?

Try posting this in a different topic. Preferably one that pertains to the question. This libel/slander and has nothing to do with your question. You will get more answers that way.

Sorry about your mother passing. IF your mother had Medicare and IF she went to the nursing home after a 3 day or longer stay from a hospital from a related stay, Medicare pays 100% of all costs, including prescriptions, for days 1-20 of the nursing home. If your mother does not have Medicare, you need to read her health insurance policy to determine whether or not that insurance covers prescriptions when a beneficiary is in a nursing home. If the prescriptions were covered under this, call the pharmacy and give it the information it needs to file a claim. Should no insurance cover the prescriptions, the pharmacy will make a claim to your mother's estate via Probate Court.
