What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Just a question - no incident has happened.

I have decent limits on my cars - 250K/500K/100K for liability. My adult daughter has a car with 25K/50K/10K (not sure about the 10). This weekend she asked me to swap for a day so I could try to figure out what the noise her car is making is.

What if I had crashed and hurt somebody while driving her car? My understanding was that her policy would apply first and then if those amounts were used up, my policy would apply? Is this correct? I've had some friends say that only hers applies or that mine applies first.

I tried asking my ins company but customer service didn't seem to understand my question and I don't have a copy of my policy - just renewal summaries for the last 10 years or so.

I don't want to be driving around with 25/50/10.

Thanks.

Call customer service again as ask a different question. Ask if you are covered if you are driving a car other than your own. Ask if your liability coverage applies if you are driving a car other than your own.
