What is the name of your state?CA

My husband's soon to be ex-bro-in-law (who is using drugs) is telling his soon to be ex-wife and is also made statements to the mediator, which is now in the court documents, that he was getting his drugs from my husband. My husband has a successful job, we live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood and I run a daycare from our house. This is totally untrue. He is now threatening his ex-wife that if she takes the kids to our "drug house" that he will call CPS and turn my husband in. How do we get him to stop telling these lies?

restraining order

Can a restraining order stop someone from doing something like slander or just keep them away? The bro-in-law has no job or money to sue for-we just want him to stop.
