Libel and Slander, California

California. I posted a bulletin on this board (in the criminal section) asking advice about terrorist threats against me. This person had left many messages on my business voice mail threating my life, and the recordings were place into police hands. The detectives for the police department contacted him and he admitted everything. This same person also called two of my bosses at work and our corporate headquaters HR department trying to get me fired. This person is also known to his local police for harrassing his wife, whom he thought I had an affair with. She was also interviewed by the police department and is now living in a home for battered women. This guys has also given death threats to at least two other men recently, including his family dentist. This is all documented, the D.A. is pressing charges on the Terrorist Threats. The company his wife works for is processing a restraining order on him (included in the police report). He is suppose to turn himself in in four days. He really scared myself, my wife, and family, which was very noticable by the police officer who took the report. Can I sue this guy for slandering me TO my boss, his boss, and corporate headquarters? What he said was totally untrue and I am sure his wife will aknowledge that.

And when you win the lawsuit, what do expect to get out of it? Money? Justice? or maybe just 2 years of living with a case where the defendant threatens and scares not only you, but your family and it seems like everyone else.

You don't want to be involved with someone like this. You should help the D.A. so that this guy is locked up and out of your life. Sometimes the best thing to do is to not file the lawsuit.
