what can be done about a woman who will not let the past rest? i work in a factory and where there are people that see you talk to someone and then assume that you are having an affair with that person. Then the rumors get back to this person's wife. she was told nothing is going on but she does not believe her husband for his past record and has been caught by her, my husband beleives me and knows that i have done nothing. my problem is that this other person who works where i do calls this man's wife and tells heer that we are talking--which we do hi how are you and how is it going but always in a public place and not in any hiding place. this woman had told her that breaks are being taken together--which there has been times that i have been in the lunch room when he has been there but so has other people my supervisor for one. i have never been alon with this person. her friend that works in the plant goes and tells her half truthsa nd she believes her. the trouble is that she comes into work and tells whoever will listen about this and my name is mud there. what can i do? how do i make someone stop talking about me at work and stop spreading lies about me eg that i am involved with this man. his wife is nuts--she had written letters to my husband she lives in the same town as i she walks in my neighborhood when she lives on the other side of town she will drive by me when i am going to work and wave and throw kisses to me, i have kept some of the letters that she had wriiten but others i have thrown away is there anything i can do or do i just chalk it up to a looney toon. this woman has gone so far as to have her husband quit his job because i work there and has showed up at work after he has hit her to show people that he made her nose bleed once becasue he hit her. when that happened the man was a supervisor and they made him give up his job and go on a different shift he was a supervisor now he was a laborer-i amtelling y0u this to show what kind of person she is do i ignore this or what. can i do anything to the woman who is coming in and talking about me and can i do anything about the guys wife who keeps sending letters i live in pa and i am married with three children of my own. happily married i may say
