Our 22 year old daughter is in the midst of a very ugly divorce from her less than 2 yr old marraige; there is virtually no property, only debt. The majot fight is over custody and visitation by her estranged husband of their 13 month old son. In the course of the fight, opposing counsel has leveled vicious ad hominem comments about my husband, our son and I , which they sent to the law gaurdian and court. What are our options, other than telling them to stop? Would we be successful suing them?

You can stomp your feet, ball your hands into little fists and hold your breath until he stops.

And yes, you can sue. You would lose but you have the right to spend your money, time and effort any way you see fit.

Statements made during judicial proceedings are immune from slander.
