It all started when I got a ticket back in Jan of 99 for defective licence plate lights and no front licence plate. I forget to take care of it and missed the court date. I never received any notices or anything in the mail regarding the matter. I got another ticket in Downtown LA a few months later for driving without proof of valid insurance and expired registration. Missed that court date as well and got a yellow paper in mail saying that if I don't take care of this matter, my licence will be suspended. So I went to court and settled the matter. They gave me 3 months to pay off the fine and a yellow receipt stating that. I got another ticket last month for non-working brake light and driving on a suspended licence. Went to court next day to find out why it was suspended even though I had taken care of the earlier ticket. Found out that it was suspended because of the ticket I got back in January for defective lights and no front licence plate. So I took care of the lights and licence plate so now my car is complete and in good status. Now I have to pay $403 for the defective lights ticket to get my licence back, $534 for the ticket I got for no valid registration and no insurance, and the fine for the last ticket. My questions are, can they really suspend my licence for not have a front licence plate and defective licence plate lights? Can the bail amount if $403 (which I have to pay to get my licence back) be reduced since I have taken care of the mechanical problems in my car? Please Help!
