License suspended from 1993?

California just tied together databases with Massachusetts and somehow, a traffic ticket from 1993 caused a "non eligible" flag in Mass, which was transfered into the California database.

I've been going back and forth between DMV and RMV for over a month. CA DMV doesn't have records going back that far.

Mass wants a copy of the arrest paperwork or court documents showing I used my CA ID at the time of the arrest.

The courts only keep the records for 7 years.

I have no way of showing I had a California License at the time of the ticket.

Without a License, I can't work.

Am I the only one caught in this nightmare?

I ran across an article written 14 years ago that is coming true today...

Our Founding Fathers never could have envisioned today's driver's license. It would have been inconceivable to likes of Washington, Adams, and Jefferson that one day travel between a person's home and work, or between nearby cities, in a carriage owned by that person, would be transformed from a right into a privilege to be granted and revoked at the pleasure of the state.

This is much bigger than I thought, and huge numbers of people will be in the same situation soon, and they'll be looking for a good Lawyer... ;-)

(This is where I was flagged, Mass picked up the suspension back in 1993 but they can't access the database.) Maybe on May 11th when they can look at the database they will see it was a Misdemeanor )
