Long story short, My fiance and I agreed to seperate for a period of time. During this time he's become involved with a co-worker, who believes he's her boyfriend. We continue to be involved relationship wise and we have 2 children. It is my assumption that he continues to lie to this female about the status of his relationship with myself. In the past few months she and I have seemed to end up at his house around the same time or cross each other's paths on the route to his house, because he's called me to come.
***In October, I was in a grocery store and an employee, asked me loudly hadn't I been to jail. He begin to tell me that someone told him I had been to jail for cursing out my Fiance's new girlfriend, and that she had took a tape to the police with my Mother leaving her a threatning message. I found out the chain of the story, and confronted who I believe started it and we basically got into an altercation. I was very upset and has since cut ties with family memebers who I believe was spreading this lie, because I have a job, and I don't want to lose my job because of this defamation to my reputation. To end the story, 4 days ago (2mths later), a police officer called my cell phone with what he said was a courtesy call to get my side of the story and inform me that the female had been to the police station shortly before his phone call to say that I had been calling her leaving messages in October harrassing her, and me and my mother were riding by her house looking for what she says "my kids' father". After explaining to the officer the situation, and that I have not called her, she's been calling my phone and his when we've been together and the day that she actually went to the station, she passed by me as she was leaving his house & I was arriving. Obviously she's upset that he's spending more and more time with me and less with her. The officer said that the Man needs to straighten this out and for me to contact the Police department in my town to let them know that she's been riding by my family's house yelling names out the window at me while my children are around, calling my phone,and having other guys call my phone pretending to be someone else and inquring about my relationship with my fiance. My Question is, Can I not file a report or ask them to give her a call because to me it seems that the LIE told in October, actually is just taking place 2 months later, which to me is premeditated or a plot or planned, however you say it, and it's slander. I work with the state and the position that I hold I have a reputation to keep up which is why I've been trying to avoid all contact with this female. Because of the Lie, feelings were hurt as well as family ties broken, and it could have gotten further out of control. And now as a result of the officer calling me with my family in the car, my children or now terrified of policemen and my son is 5, and states that his father is no longer his father because he feels he tried to put me in jail. He doesn't understand what's going on and I've tried explain, but he is angry at his dad and policemen. All this is a result of this female and her lies and antics. Is there something I can do?
