My wife has an old medical bill that her insurance did not cover. The matter was turned over to a collection attorney who then put a lien against our checking account and an account she had with her brother. Problem is, the six months prior to the lien being put on the accounts, my wife was on medical disability, her only income at the time. I thought that disability benefits were not allowed to be taken from someone? If this is so, how can we fight this in court. My thanks in advance. We are living in Flushing, New York.
