lies from mobile home company

What is the name of your state? sc

quick question..i helped my daughter get a mobile home. it is in my name only, although she makes the payments.

she lost her job and fell behind. normally i would have been able to make the payment until we either caught up or sold it: however unanticipated health problems caused me not to be able to do much.

now, i know we are in the wrong here first: but, the lady called my husband at home (he has nothing to do with it at all) and proceeded to tell him that they would be pulling the home that day, that the fellow had already been paid to do so and was on his way. (the mortgage was 2 payments behind..less than $500.)

this upset him no end: his health is fragile and all he knew was that the payments were behind. i deliberately do not stress him because of his heart.
they did not show up.

i am pretty ticked off at this company. that was very unprofessional.

i would have to have a recording of this to prove it, correct? i do not. but i sure would like to be able to stop them doing this to anyone else.

thanks.

*** Your post said "the lady" called, but doesn't identify who she is in relation to this debt. If 'she' is working for the lender or creditor, then as dispicable as her actions were, they are not illegal.

If she is a third party debt collector, then her actions would likely be in violation of the FDCPA and you can file an online complaint on the FTC website:
