Hi, recently a friend of mine was arrested with heroin and charged with possesion w/intent. If this person gets convicted of this crime and does time after they are released what are the chances of them going on with their lives, if they recieve a certificate or Degree from a college? Will they have trouble finding a good job?
This happened in the state of Massachusetts.

The decision of whether or not your friend wants to clean up his/her act, lies only within your friend. This person, if convicted, has a good chance of making a life. Tell them to get clean and get an education. After he or she has done that, tell them to get their record expunged (depending on the expungement procedures in the Commonwealth of Massachusettes - a drug offense might not qualify).
