What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

I live in Texas. The house and other parties are in Erie Co. NY.

My grandmother (92 and in Assisted Living) has put her home in life estate with 5 grandkids (all adults) (I am one, my bro (in NC) is another) as beneficiaries. The house is up for sale. My question is, my uncle (her son, and father of other 3 "kids") has spent thousands on roof, paint, carpet, linoleum for house.

Will/can the cost of these "improvements" be deducted from the proceeds of the sale? (in other words, do I have to pay for my uncle's (exhorbitant, I suspect) selections?)

Thanks!
