My father died recently, and he had life insurance through his factory job that he worked at for 34 yrs. His job told me that he didn't have any benificiaries listed on the life insurance form.
Is this possible? and what steps will I need to take to become a beneficiary?
State of Indiana.

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Try these in the Indiana Code:

There is plenty in this section to read. My ultimate guess is this:

a mix up perhaps?
named in the will?
if not, it will/should be settled by the probate code in Indiana.

I am just guessing here, but if there is, indeed, no beneficiary listed, would the insurance amount simply go directly to the estate and be subject to the usual disposition of the estate???
