If a judge orders the beneficiary of a life insurance policy changed to spouse, but the other spouse (and owner of the life insurance policy) dies prior to the divorce being finalized, can the surviving spouse fight this in court? Husband is terminally ill and changed beneficiary before divorce started. Wife had it court ordered to name her beneficiary and once that was done, she does not want to settle divorce.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
