how do i go about finding out what life inc.on a death. was paid ,how mANY companies, and how much, also what co. paid what to whom?

Well......try the probate records first, if you know in what city/county they died.

Are you the executor or a beneficiary of the estate or policy? If not, the estate and insurance company will say it's none of your business. If you are that's different and there may be a shot at getting the Estate Tax filings.
