You should pay the taxes so that it is not sold for back taxes.

Life Estate

Same problem I'm having.

The Life Estate Holder has to maintain the property;
fix a leaky roof, pay the mortgage, pay the taxes.

If not, they are allowing the property to "waste"

Therefore the Court can end the Life Estate and allow the remainderman to take the property as if the Life Tenant passed.

I'm trying to find out if a lay-person can file a Motion to Dismiss a Life Estate or if I must hire an attorney.
