Would the FCC come after me if I request my free lifeline benefit be returned to my old phone I'm currently using?

I already this month requested the benefit to be transfered to a different company since tge phone was not working. My current phone was not activated so had to request transfer to a new company. But I luckily got ahold of current phone company and said I will stay with them since they did activate me. The new phone company I reached out to and asked them to cancel my service with them. I'm also returning the new phone carriers phone to them. They have not since contacted me.

Why do you believe the FCC would come after you? Are you still eligible for Lifeline?

Well they say you can transfer your benefit only to one company per month. They only give you four choices to choose from on the website of the carrier. I've transfered to the new company already. I didn't use the phone so was not activated.

Should I go ahead and transfer to my current phone and see what happens

Ask the company(ies) involved.

If Lifeline is only available to you on a single phone at any one time, there is little reason to believe that the FCC would object to your transfer. You could call them to inquire.
