Dilemma: As a result of criminal charges of approx 2 years ago there was an order of protection placed against a man that I was with, that includes contact of any kind. It was statutory rape, among other things. I was a minor at the time and I have just recently turned 18. It is now my wish to lift the order of protection.

I'm not sure how to go about it. Or whether it is possible. I have been told by countless that now that I'm an adult I should be able to. However, none of them are certain. I was told to go to the county clerks office and pick up paperwork and even to go to the sheriffs department. I have as of yet done neither. I was hoping for more verifiable information. During my research for an answer i couldn't find any case quite like mine. Thus this post

I would deeply appreciate some educated advice on the issue.

If more information is required just ask I am more than willing to supply it.
