Hi there,

erm I have this little problem I was wondering if somebody could help me with?

A little while ago a friend of mine was witnessed a person getting knock-ed over by youths. They kicked him and went through his pockets and took his wallet. The victim unfortunately died.

In the area where the attack took place my friend was caught on CCTV cameras as a witness. My friend did assist the police and report all he saw, however the CCTV has been passed to the BBC who are to show this on CRIME STOPPERS.

My friend does not want to have him shown on TV like this. He asked for the tape to be distorted so he is blurred but the police have said that this will impede recognition of witnesses.

Can my friend use the Human Rights Act to prevent publication of the full CCTV footage?

Thanx people..

Good question. After you post this on a United Kingdom legal site and get a verified opinion from a Barrister then please return and let us know. Since this site is for U.S. law only maybe we'll learn something.
