Limited Partnerships Ca

Hi, I am an independent filmmaker looking at raisng capital for my film. My questions are how many limited partners am I allowed to have in a Limited Partnership in California? I was told I can have up to 35 Limited partners. Is this true? Also what is an acredited, and a non-acredited investor?
If there is anyone out there that can answer any of these questions it would be greatly appreciated.
