Limited Warranty time frame

What is the name of your state? South Dakota
When a company offers a warranty, say 30 days, stating that any return must be received within that timeframe kosher? Most companies that I know of honor a warranty if informed of a problem before its expiration, not receiving a return. This is a term of a an internet based business and that requirement seems fishy. I'd guess that restriction is legal, does anyone have info that it isn't?

Most manufacturer warranties are supplemented by your state's implied warranty of fitness, which may run anywhere from 1 yr to 4 yrs. Check with your state's consumer bureau.
