my ex-boyfriend keeps putting off picking up his stuff at my house that i rent. he hasn't paid his half of the rent in two months but also hasn't been staying at my house. how long do i have to wait to change the locks then make arrangements for him to pick up his stuff?

Since, he is now your ex-boyfriend. You should treat him like a third party and give him formal notice, in writing, that he has not paid rent....for so many months, and you will give him 30 day or so notice, to pick his things up, otherwise, he can find them on the street. And locks will be changed.
