What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Florida
i have extensively researched starting a corporation and have decided on an LLC corporation. I have also researched out of state corporations such as Nevada and Wyoming. Wyoming is the better choice as of june 05', as nevada passed a law that reduces privacy for the corporations registered in the state. I will be getting a local representative 'registered agent' through on of the agencies that advertises. as far as my business is concerned, i will be selling products online, these items will be shipped from a handful of locations across the nation. I will be selecting the shipping source depending on which depot is closer to the customer. Once i have obtained a tax number for the state i am based in, i can pay tax on the items that are sold within it. But for the items that are sold out of state eg. to California, what is the process with state tax if my items are not shipped out of florida and instead out of another location closer to california. Theoretically do i have to obtain a tax number for all 48 states. because as far as i have seen on other sellers online, they claim that if the buyer lives in their state they must pay the state tax on the item. but not if they live out of state, and therefore the seller avoids paying tax in the other states they sell to. this is not legal as far as i am aware, but as i am told there is not a national agreement with all 48 states as to one tax number for a corporation who deals nationwide. So basically if i'm based in florida but not actually buying or selling anything in florida how do i find out which state to pay tax to, the one i'm shipping from or the one i am selling to. Or do i have to go about getting tax numbers for each state my shipping sources are in. Any help on this would be most appreciated
