As in first post my friend has been locked out of her apartment, now her x boyfriend has told her she has till next friday to have her stuff out. Can somebody give a little bit of advise here? I'm at a loss as to what to do. Maybe just a little bit of direction would help.

Friend locked out in Washington State

Your friend needs to immediately contact the police department. It is illegal for her ex to lock her out of a home that she is living in. If he wants her out, he will have to serve her with an eviction notice (usually 30 days..depending on the state). But, he has absolutely no right to lock her out. She also has legal rights and the police department will go the home, let the boyfriend know that what he has done is illegal. Of course, she probably wouldn't want to stay with the creep for 30 days. She can also request that an officer be present while she removes her items from the property. But, she needs to contact the police and an attorney !!!
