Under VA law a landlord is require to use reasonable efforts to inform their tenants of their right to be present for the deposit return inspection. Our landlord not only failed to notify us of that, she also conducted her inspection over several days without notification of any kind to us. She's now trying to deduct several things that are outrageous. My question is this: By violating our right to be present and her cunducting a highly unprofessional inspection are we entitled to take action? and what action might we take. Is the the inspection void? should we get our deposit back? we were excellent tenants that always paid rent ontime and left the house in great condition. any advice would be greatly appreciated
