What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

Many of the seniors know my case so I will not go into a huge description of what I need.

I am preparing for the long cause hearing requested by my ex-husband last July when he forfeited all of his visitation rights to our little girl - this is supposed to occur in January. I am filing for a continuance (lord I hope I get that one right) because I am in a position of having to attend a mandatory conference to accredit my college and AS MY LUCK GOES the two dates collide.

My question is this... I believe CC had said (sorry if it wasn't you!) that a long cause hearing is when you bring in witnesses of character. Do I need to file something to announce those witnesses? Lord knows I have PLENTY of them and to be honest with all of you I am sincerely considering sending out invitations!!! SO MANY PEOPLE IN MY LIFE want to see this OVER!!! In the meantime my exhusbands family has hit me with a criminal law suit and I face those terms on the 4th (I posted under restraining orders with that story)

All of the help I can get from seniors here in order to prepare for this hearing would be very appreciated.
