What is the name of your state? california
I broke my wrist on a jobsite 2 years ago and it was covered by workers comp. Being this is the 2nd time I've broken this same wrist, they put a plate in my wrist this time. The surgeon told me that if I wanted, or if the plate bothers me in time, that I can have it removed. It has now been over 1 year since I have seen a doctor or specialist about my wrist, and workers comp wants to close the file on this claim after 1 year of inactivity. I now have the choice of either keeping this claim open (I worry about the plate giving me problems in 1 year, 10 years, or maybe never!), or accepting some sort of monitary settlement (which would close the claim forever).
Can somebody give me some direction or information on what to do or what to expect. I dont think I need a lawyer, or do I? And with the rising costs of healthcare, would that be figured into the settlement?
Lots-a-questions.....few answers. I know workers comp wont give me all the info I need! What is the name of your state?
