regarding my friend

New York State
My friend m.a.d. has been married to a girl for almost 5 years and they have a 4 year old son. She is 22 and in those 5 years she has slept around (can only prove once, but her friend estimated 9 people), spent his $$ on drugs, contracted genital warts (although maintains she has never slept with anyone and he doesn't have them), among numerous other things that a married woman shouldn't do. She is currently living in NC with her new boyfriend, has only requested to see her son once in the last 7 months, and constantly asks my friend for $$. She even introduced her new boyfriend to him! He badly wants a divorce but is broke and is afraid he may have to give up or even share custody with her as she is unfit in more ways than I have room to write. They were living in SC and they couldn't get a divorce for irreconciable differences down there, but since moving to NY, she was caught, literally with her pants down, and has left town. Any advice for a single, broke father desperately trying to do what's best for his son?
thanks.... 'regarding my friend' in NY
